NFR Extends Film Submission Duration for NFR Global Academy Awards

Kochi, Kerala: In response to overwhelming interest and requests from filmmakers, the NFR Kochi International Film Festival is pleased to extend the accepted duration for short films, documentaries, and animation films as follows:

• Short Films with a duration of less than 40 minutes
• Documentaries with a duration of less than 40 minutes
• Animation Films with a duration of less than 10 minutes

Siby Malayil, the Festival Chairman, said, “This change reflects NFR’s commitment to helping talented individuals to choose film as a career option.” This change will help the festival accommodate more complex stories and its creators, he said.

Submissions will close soon, on August 15. Filmmakers are encouraged to take advantage of this extended duration and submit their works. This is a one-time opportunity to showcase their work under the new rules.

The festival continues to offer significant cash prizes of up to ₹8,00,000, certificates, and the prestigious golden trophy to the winners in each category. The festival is also currently accepting submissions for its other stream, the NFR Script Pitching Festival, which grooms ideas into presentable scripts and presents them to potential investors.
